About us

Our Story

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

AURORA was created in 2018, to support patients with hematological diseases, reflecting the vision of Nicola David-Pinedo. Undergoing treatment for leukemia, during her bone- marrow transplant follow-up in Athens, Nicola and her husband, Clemente, witnessed the difficulties faced by patients. As a response to this need, Nicola and Clemente, decided to support patients facing financial hardship by providing a home where they could stay during that period.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make leukemia and other hematological diseases 100% curable.

Until that is realized, AURORA aims to improve care for patients, offer support to their families, increase the patient survival rate, support specialized medical centers in Greece and beyond, and promote the development of research in the field of oncohematology by bringing good people and good ideas together.

Our goal, in short, is to help patients and families through this difficult and traumatic time, and to fight this disease in a meaningful way.
